This inconspicuous and upside down blue kettle stumped all but three players!
The lucky three correctly guessed the location at Olsen’s Bakery and Coffeeshop at 1529 Mission Drive in Solvang. It’s hanging from the southeast corner of the building and is pretty invisible to the untrained eye. Congrats to the game changing players.

What a doozy!
Michelle, you hit the nail right on the head – I’m at a high school robotics competition in Lancaster till the weekend. I hung in there as long as I could!
Aww Mike, you’re my Edness mentor! Thank you for mentoring those young engineers!
If you like these visual scavenger hunts, or just for training for Edness, there’s a similar Where in Santa Barbara? section at sitelinesb.com, but I think it only does the city.
The EdhatRipOff.com hehehe
MAC – I had no idea about SiteLineSB. Looks clunky and a bit too bougie for me, but cool to know there’s another local site. March Edness is something I look forward to every year. I’d love to this more often!
Ah. I had only looked at the Where In posts, and not the elitist content.
Sacjon – I sure hope you meant the slang term for bourgeoisie, rather than the main definition:
“A thin, flexible surgical instrument for exploring or dilating a passage of the body.”
MAC – the former, indeed 😉 lol
Agree Sac, the site’s owner/writer is from NYC and comes off very pretentious and snobby in his posts. He basically copies the Restaurant Guy and edhat then makes snide remarks about our town. Not a fan.
Woo hoo. Congratulations finders! That was indeed a doozy.
Wow wow wow. I feel like I’ve slumdog millionaired my way into most of these answers. Congratulations to the winners and all the competitors for making this one for the edhat history books.
Nope, SBSurferlife, that’s how we all do it! You are one legit player!
Boy am I kicking myself. I looked all over the county at every cafe and coffee shop, but I didn’t look in Solvang because I thought the design codes there would be too strict to allow something as funky as an antique coffee pot hanging from a pole.
An antique *Danish* coffee pot: https://www.google.com/search?q=antique+danish+coffee+pot&tbm=isch
Game changing indeed! Almost gave up! Besides the nail-biting element (found it at 7:50), there is the mind-blowing reality of beating Penelope805 and Holazola! I can’t believe it. They were probably at all-day work seminars or something.
I had to knock off and get my equipment ready and then drive to San Diego. I wouldn’t have gotten it, I passed it in street view, stopped and read the red sign, didn’t look up. Congratulations to the winners, well done.
I know Mike, don’t know who Michelle is. Maybe a dinner of contestants after it’s all done?
We are hosting a March Edness and 20th anniversary party on April 19th from 4:30-6:30 at Carr Winery to celebrate the winners, players, and all our readers. Formal announcement is coming soon, but mark your calendars!
I’m Michele, and I’ve always thought that would be fun. There is the Edhat open house party, let’s start with that!
OMG, congrats to the ones that got this tricky one, we looked everywhere, near and far!!! WOW!
Oh man, I was so close! I was looking at tea shops in Solvang for about 5 minutes and then something came up and I forgot to get back to my search! Congrats to you three!
