This colorful display is a new addition to downtown Santa Barbara. Located on the corner of E. Ortega and State Streets are whimsical plants and multi-color vases above a yellow half wall.
This is courtesy of the new restaurant and tequila bar, Augie’s located at 700 State Street, formerly the home of Panera Bread and Left at Albuquerque.

One of the drawbacks of using Google Earth is that really new stuff doesn’t show.
I found this one using Google Maps. Are Maps and Earth not synced?
Yeah, it wasn’t quick or easy!
They are not synced, they are different tools for different purposes so Google does not keep them identical.
This one shows up in Street View on both platforms. But, the 3D imagery view in Google Maps and Google Earth do not show the updated wall. Generally the 3D satellite stuff is always far behind the Street View imagery. Probably requires far more image processing to get the 3D features going. Too bad, because it is a hell of a lot faster to click around a 3D bird’s eye view than to cruise down Street View!!
The playing field narrows!
Divide your points by the number of people you’re collaborating with 😉
I went past it twice in street view, it’s a building for lease. It turns out, we found out too late, Google Earth on an iPhone shows the building as it sits now.
Google Earth street view. I was using Maps street view, it didn’t show it.
Then it’s an iPhone thing, bummer. Google Earth and Maps street view on Android, PC, and web-based all show it.
Google Earth street view, or Google Earth 3D imagery view? I’m curious if it is only iphones that don’t have the latest street view in Earth…
And formerly Alpha Thrift Store.
It looks like a Shelton because it is!

I looked on his website yesterday, I still don’t see it there today.
So, uh, in arid times how do you water them? Or replant them if they perish?
Maybe from the roof?
I only found this because I recently walked by it running an errand! I thought it was cute and snapped a pic, really came in useful.
