At approximately 9:10am, a man was seen harassing cyclists and blocking their way at the Patterson crossing of the Obern Trail. The stated reason for instigating the confrontation, according the man, was that cyclists were not stopping at the intersection. The man himself was on a bicycle, wearing an American flag ball cap, but no helmet.
SHOREBIRD – it is ILLEGAL to run stop signs, yes even if you’re in spandex. It is not illegal for an adult to be on a bike without wearing a helmet. BIG difference.
Make a decision people: are we above the law, or not? Or is it merely situational. Stop at the intersection.
Good for him! No one is above the law!
11:40 – “harassing” is perfectly unless it becomes threatening, physical, etc. Just yelling at cyclists to obey the law is not illegal.
Nagging people about safety while riding a bike without a helmet? Seems legit?
