Man Electrocuted After Falling Tree Hits Power Lines

A local man was electrocuted early Tuesday after a falling tree hit power lines on the Westside.

Just after midnight, a ficus tree fell and took down a power pole on San Pascual and Sutton Ave. Power lines were on the ground and the tree caught fire, reports KEYT News.

A neighbor witnessed the incident and saw the man become injured. She rushed to the area and drug the electrocuted man from the area before paramedics arrived. He is believed to be in critical condition at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

KEYT reports a nearby apartment was evacuated and over 200 people were without power.
