A man was airlifted to the hospital after sustaining major injuries in a vehicle rollover collision on Highway 166 in Cuyama on Monday.
At 2:10 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a vehicle accident near the Rock Front Ranch. They found a single vehicle rolled over approximately 40 feet off the roadway, said Fire Captain Dave Zaniboni.
A single occupant, a male estimated to be in his mid-50s, sustained major injuries. A Sheriff helicopter from Santa Ynez responded as firefighters packaged the patient on the ground. He was then hoisted to the helicopter and transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, said Zaniboni.
California Highway Patrol is investigating this incident.
