We are excited to announce that the new sidewalk on Magnolia Avenue, from Hollister Avenue south to Gaviota Street, is now open for use! There was a gap in the sidewalk making pedestrian travel in the area difficult. The new sidewalk improves pedestrian travel by providing continuous accessibility and increasing safety for pedestrians.
In addition to the new sidewalk being completed, the crosswalk has been repainted and landscaping has been placed. As part of the Magnolia Sidewalk Infill Project, the driveway apron (which connects the driveway to the main street and crosses the sidewalk) has been replaced, and the ADA access ramps have been brought up to code. The ADA detectable warning surfaces (the bumpy yellow mats) will be installed in mid-December. There are a couple other minor things that will be completed by mid-December as well.
