Lompoc Riverbed Brush Fire

Santa Barbara County Firefighters and the Lompoc Fire Department responded to the Santa Ynez riverbed near SR-246 and River Park around 1:20 p.m. Sunday.

Crews discovered a one-acre wind-driven fire with a moderate rate of spread.

Around 2:00 p.m., crews on scene reported the fire to be between one and two acres with the forward progress stopped. A helicopter and dozers were cancelled.

No structures were threatened and no evacuations were needed.

The cause is under investigation.
