On 03-28-2021 at 8:04 PM, the Lompoc Police Department received a call of a subject walking northbound on H Street carrying a handgun. The Reporting Party described the subject and advised this person was last seen in the 100 block of the North H & G Street alley. Officers responded to the area and located the subject, which resulted in an Officer Involved Shooting. The subject was fatally wounded and pronounced deceased at the scene.
At the Lompoc Police Department’s request, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department responded and assumed the responsibility for conducting the Officer Involved Shooting Investigation. The name of the decedent is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
