Lompoc Police Arrest Three Suspects in 2022 Homicide

On 06/12/22, at approximately 7:38 PM, LPD Officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired in the 400 block of East Prune Avenue. Officers a located 43-year-old Lompoc man Joseph Lujan and a 56-year-old female in a residence’s carport. Both victims had sustained gunshot wounds. Lujan was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female was transported to an area Hospital where she recovered and was eventually discharged.

On 10/03/2023, at 1:00pm, Lompoc Police Department Detectives arrested 3 suspects in connection with this shooting.

During the investigation, Detectives developed information that led to arrest warrants being obtained. The Detectives arrested and booked all three males. Two of the suspects were already in custody on unrelated charges. The third suspect was arrested at the Lompoc Police Department.

The suspects were identified as Lompoc residents Jonathan Garcia 20-years-old, a 19-year-old male who was 17 at the time, and a 16-year-old male who was 15 at the time.

The suspects were booked on charges that include murder, assault with a firearm, and allegations of personal use of a firearm.

These arrests were a result of a lengthy ongoing homicide investigation.
