Re: People v. Salvador Moreno Mojarras, Case No. 1489916
District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that defendant Salvador Moreno Mojarras, 60 years old, was sentenced to 36 years to life in state prison.
On October 30, 2017, Mr. Mojarras pled guilty to one count of Penal Code section 288.7(b): Oral Copulation/Sexual Penetration with a Child 10 Years of Age or Younger in Count 2, and two counts of Penal Code section 288(a): Lewd or Lascivious Acts Upon a Child in Counts 8 and 13. He also admitted the special allegation pursuant to Penal Code section 667.61 of having committed the offenses against more than one child.
The Defendant pled to crimes against three separate children.
These child victims ranged in ages from 3 to 11 years old when they were assaulted.
At the time Mr. Mojarras was the husband of a day care provider in Lompoc and the three victims were being cared for at the day care when he molested them.
These heinous crimes happened between January 2004 and September 2014. They first came to law enforcement’s attention when one of the victims disclosed the abuse to her mother.
According to District Attorney Dudley, “This case was thoroughly investigated by the Lompoc Police Department. These officers did an excellent job interviewing multiple children who attended the day care and following up on every possible lead. As a result of their efforts this defendant will never be able to hurt another child and they ensured justice for multiple child victims and their loved ones.”
