Local Helicopter Rescues Stuck Hiker from SLO County

A Santa Barbara helicopter assisted in a rescue of a hiker stuck on Bishop’s Peak in San Luis Obispo County.

After noon on Wednesday, Cal Fire SLO, San Luis Obispo City firefighters, and Search & Rescue responded to a medical call for a hiker that is stuck on the rocks on top of Bishop’s Peak trail.

Crews were able to access the hiker and called in Santa Barbara’s Helicopter 3 for assistance. 

The helicopter airlifted the hiker to the nearest hospital for treatment of injuries.
