Laundry Room Fire in UCSB Family Housing

A commercial clothes dryer caught fire in the laundry room of UC Santa Barbara family housing.

At 2:59 p.m., Santa Barbara County Firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire in the 700 block of Laurel Walk, Isla Vista. 

Crews discovered a lot of smoke coming from the laundry room and were able to knock down the appliance fire within ten minutes and prevent the fire from extending to the building. 

The exact cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no injuries.
