A large tree fell on a moving vehicle at a Goleta intersection on Friday.
At 12:30 p.m., Santa Barbara County Firefighters responded to the area of Calle Real and Encina Lane off Fairview Avenue for a rescue operation.
The driver of a sedan required extrication after a large eucalyptus tree fell, crushing the vehicle.
Firefighters were able to safely remove the driver, who did not sustain any injuries, although the vehicle had extensive damage.
The intersection was closed for a period of time but is now open.
It’s bad enough to have your car crushed by a falling tree. But to be in it when it happens…whoa!
This is really scary. Glad to hear the driver is ok.
Is it the heavy rain causing all these trees to fall?

Gonna happen eventually and I can’t wait for all INVASIVE Eucalyptus to croak so we can get back to native plants and birds.
