Hollister Avenue is experiencing two areas of lane closures in the eastbound direction for roadway construction work. The lane closure from Pacific Oaks Road to just east of the Hollister Avenue/Storke Road Intersection is for construction of driveways for the new Target store. The new driveways are needed in order to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The second lane closure is on Hollister Avenue to the west of Entrance Road. Subsurface erosion and damage occurred when an irrigation line for the recently landscaped area of the Bike Path experienced a break. Determination of the extent of the damage and scheduling of a contractor has taken considerably longer than anticipated. Contractors in the area that have the technical ability to make the repair have been unusually busy. The City of Goleta Department of Public Works appreciates the Public’s patience as the appropriate repair is determined and a contractor becomes available to perform the work.
