Invasion of Flying Termites?

By an edhat reader

I was walking on Hendry’s Beach with the dog when I noticed what at first I thought was ash but then I was like wait, it was just raining. As I continued to investigate I saw hundreds of little flying bugs. I was then on the Mesa at the shopping center and again encountered many flying pests. I then traveled home to the Westside and saw hundreds more as I parked and got out of the car. I grabbed one and took a photo. Are these termites? Do you think they were displaced after the fire? Or are they typical after the first rains of the season?
