A woman hiking Grass Mountain near Los Olivos was rescued by a helicopter after breaking her ankle.
At 1:26 p.m., Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a report of a hiker with a leg injury with two engines and one helicopter. Crews located the 59-year-old female approximately 1.5 miles up the trail and determined it was a broken ankle.
The hiker was unable to get down the hill and hoist rescue was performed via helicopter. The woman was transported to the Santa Ynez airport where an ambulance transported her to the local hospital.

Ouch. I once hobbled home four blocks on a 3rd degree sprained ankle. Best of luck to this hiker for a quick recovery.
