An injured hiker was helicoptered from Hot Springs Trail in Montecito late Friday morning.
Just before 11:00 a.m., Montecito Firefighters and Santa Barbara County Search & Rescue teams were dispatched to a reported trail rescue.
Crews discovered a 47-year-old woman had fallen while at the hot springs and suffered a minor head injury.
Rescue team members hiked to the patient and paramedics provided initial treatment for her injuries and hypothermia.
Santa Barbara County Air Support helicopter 308 was called in to hoist the patient out of the area and transport her to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.
“Thank you to our partners for the assist today and have a safe weekend,” stated the Montecito Fire Department.

How scary! Glad to hear that she’s ok. Better to be safe than sorry when it comes to a head injury.
Yet another great example of how important our rescue services can be on the trails!
