TRAIL RESCUE: Montecito firefighters responded to 25-year-old female hiker in distress on the Hot Springs Trail Sat. at 3:10 p.m. [Saturday].
Medics determined she needed to be hoisted out via helicopter. SBC Fire Copter 4 hoisted the patient out & she was then transported via ambulance to hospital.

Is there any information on exactly where this was? What was the nature of the problem? A fall? Dehydration? Any identifiable cause?
I gave the location and the medics didn’t know a lot while she was unconscious.
Have to assume the report that she was actually unconscious because why the f- would a helicopter have to come in for a rescue otherwise? We’ve seen more and more of these the last few years. Does anyone ever remember a HELICOPTER rescue off our local trails back in the day? I don’t.
