On Monday ICE (Immigration & Customs Enforcement) agents arrested people on Cañada Street and on Tuesday, they arrested people on Old Coast Highway by the tennis courts.
There isn’t any information on this suspected raids or arrests, just rumors. Does anyone have any more information?

ICE is definitely not arresting locals.
If you want real change the employers of the illegals should be arrested first.
Haven’t heard, but if I.C.E. is making the arrests the “arrestees” are illegal immigrants, and not citizens or legal immigrants here on work visas for example.
I am glad that they are hitting our area- That being said, they should go through Santa Barbara County Jail first , as that is costing us locally.

I am tired , as a taxpaying, legal citizen, of subsidizing big Agriculture, the rich who hire and pay under the table for “slaves” and contractors who use cheap illegal laborers instead of paying a working wage.
I have nothing against those who come here to work- I DO have a problem with them being used as cheap labor. We may be paying $2.00 for a head of lettuce, but the real cost is more like $8.00 when you count the subsidized housing, free medical care and food debit cards that are provided to illegals at taxpayer expense. GO ICE!
E-Verify for all employers and government services is the one thing that would stop illegal immigration. It is opposed by those who profit from illegal immigration (including scofflaw employers, illegals gaming the system, and the politicians who carry their water instead of the peoples).
As an employer of small company w 167 employed, illegal aliens, unlawful migrants have acquired fake IDs. We need a eye or finger print National ID card to validate legal status before hiring. Also, be fair. If estimated 40% employed for cash (off payroll records & tax rolls) , how do I compete with 200% on payroll with withholdings and paid leave? Labor laws and practices must be simplified and fair. Fear of arrest is not a motivator to hire or grow a business. CA needs to abolish Sanc state status; hire more ICE, clean house of those without required authorization to be here.
Quick analogy for those supporting unfettered immigration: Good oil is essential in an engine. There is an entry point to pour the oil into your engine and there is an amount that works best for each engine to run smoothly. You wouldn’t open your hood and pour oil all over your engine just because an engine needs oil. You also want to make sure you are using good quality oil that helps your engine. Otherwise your engine will suffer. Please let’s stop this insanity of thinking that anyone and everyone should be allowed to walk over our borders and receive all the amazing benefits our tax dollars pay for.

The engine of capitalism requires the oil of cheap labor. They say that without this cheap labor our system will grind to a halt. There are a lot of old people on social security that need a lot of young workers to pay taxes to support them. They better figure this out quickly or the AARPers will vote everyone out.
Changing climate causes many species that used to live closer to the equator to move away from it. The change in temperature makes it possible for them to extend their range. Fishermen probably see it first since there are fewer barriers. Before countries existed, our species did the same thing. They followed whatever they hunted. What if the conditions on Earth are setting up mass migrations in search of food again?

Get on the phone to call your Reps. ‘You are sworn to uphold the law, but must agree to never cite or prosecute to work in Santa Barbara’ or you will be terminated or sidelined. Daily thousands of illegal migrants enter via our southern border plus overstays by those entering via airports and ship-ports. Locals continue to vote Salud, Monique, Hannah-Beth, DA Joyce Dudley and Sheriff Brown who support Open Borders. Time to recall starting with DA Dudley who announced at public speeches, “I will not enforce. You have no worries. Nor will my staff.” No lawyer with integrity can work locally because DA Joyce Dudley requires litmus testing. WE ARE SURROUNDED BY FOOLS and closet Americans!
