I moved to the area a few years ago and I’m looking to get more deeply involved in the community with non-profits. What’s the best way to go about joining the Board of Directors for a local non-profit? Does anyone have any tips or advice?
What talents and expertise do you have to offer a non-profit agency? You may have to prove yourself before they invite you to join the head table.
Funding is always the non-profits’ achilles heel. Make a notable effort to boost funding and you’ll be a valuable asset for sure.
Be sure to let us know when you secure your Board of Directors position. I’m just sitting around home doing nothin’ and it might be fun to try something new. If they select you I’ll apply next. Maybe they’ll give us our own offices.
