OUCH It was actually 5700 Block of Calle Real….Sorry.
It’s been quite the 24 hours for transient crimes against the public. Arson, cell phone theft from juveniles, strong arm robbery, out of control dog bite-and-run……ugh
Interesting huh?
Is Citizen’s Arrest still a thing?
“Tell the suspect plainly that you are making a citizen’s arrest and that you are holding him or her until police arrive. Call the police. Ask explicitly for his or her cooperation until police arrive. Avoid using force, if at all possible, and use it to the minimum possible otherwise.”
“A citizen’s arrest is an arrest made by a person who is not acting as a sworn law-enforcement official. In common law jurisdictions, the practice dates back to medieval England and the English common law, in which sheriffs encouraged ordinary citizens to help apprehend law breakers.”
Dang, now Miss Gulch will get an order from the sheriff and take the dog away. Run Toto, Run!
A Progressive Paradise . OH Yea !
Interesting, not really. Unsettling, alarming, irritating, embarrassing, frightening….yes.
Poor dog. Probably biting purely out of fear and now what will happen? Quarantine? Euthanization?
Yet the jay walking sting operations continue.
Was there a description of the dog? I was bit by a German shepherd who belonged to a woman who lived in her van. There was no way to find her to report the attack.
This is another emotional attack on the homeless/poor/different. Had the incident involved an “housed” person diatribes about the affluent, entitled and irresponsible dog owners would not have flowed out. (And, yes, I have encountered many loose dogs whose owners let them walk my neighborhood and who, when asked to leash their animal, give out with a lot of hostile language about their rights and the good behavior of their dog and such).
There’s currently a curfuffle on NextDoor about a neighborhood dog who attacks other dogs while on leash and nipped another dog owner who was protecting her pet. Badly behaved, biting dogs aren’t welcome anywhere. A dog’s snapping jaws are at child level. I personally know three kids now in elementary school with scars from someone’s “baby”. I understand why a women “living rough” would want a dog for protection against the rest, but even so, it’s her responsibility to train her dog.
