As of noon on Sunday, the evacuation order will be downgraded to a warning for those living near the Hollister Ranch fire.
The “Hollister Fire” has now reached 100 acres and is 20% contained, primarily impacting rural areas and backcountry terrain.
Evacuation orders for those living on the Gaviota coast were enacted Saturday afternoon due to the concern of heavy winds. The orders were issued for 30 homes in the area between Alegria Canyon and Agua Caliente Canyon north of Hollister Ranch Road.
Fire crews and heavy equipment remained staffed overnight with aircraft returning on Sunday morning, said SBCFD Captain Daniel Bertucelli.
“Strong winds in area testing fire line… This fire behavior is not typical of a fire in March. Please be fire aware and limit opportunities for fires to start,” reported Bertucelli.
Gaviota State Beach Road, day-use area and trails are closed.

Fire crews are on the scene of a growing brush fire near Hollister Ranch in Gaviota.
At 11:32 a.m. Saturday, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department (SBCFD) responded to a reported 50-acre fire with structures threatened.
As of 1:00 p.m., SBCFD reported the fire is threatening one structure and is traveling towards a drainage route. Search and Rescue is on its way for possible evacuations if the fire spreads.
Several engines, a helicopter, and two water tenders first arrived on the scene but additional engines and aircraft have been requested.
This is a worry about growing winds in the area. California Highway Patrol has shut down access to Hollister Ranch.
SBCFD states that communication to media with updates has been a challenge and asked for patience.
