Hiker Airlifted from Cathedral Peak

A hiker in need of assistance was helicoptered from Cathedral Peak on Monday afternoon.

At 1:20 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters and an Air Support Unit helicopter responded to hiking area near Cathedral Peak in Santa Barbara

The adult male was hoist rescued, evaluated, and treated by fire medics. He was then flown to the Santa Barbara Airport where he refused transport to the hospital.

It’s unclear what the extent of the injuries were. The only information provided by the County Fire Department was an “adult male needing assistance.”
