A car hauler caught fire on Highway 154 Tuesday evening which shut down the roadway until Wednesday morning.
At 9:45 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the highway near Lake Cachuma for a reported semi-truck fire.
They discovered a tractor-trailer carrying five to six vehicles fully involved in flames that spread to nearby vegetation.
The 50 x 5 foot swath of brush was knocked down shortly before the vehicle fire was extinguished. All vehicles were damaged.
Highway 154 was closed for approximately nine hours and reopened at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday.
The cause is under investigation.

A car hauler is fully engulfed in flames on Hwy 154 near Cachuma Lake
It looks like the truck did not ignite but instead one of the vehicles it was hauling ignited. I wonder if it was a spontaneous lithium battery fire in an EV vehicle?
