RESTORATION OF EMBANKMENT/SHOULDER ON NORTHBOUND U.S. HIGHWAY 101 NEAR HIGHWAY 154 CONTINUES NEXT WEEK WITH NORTHBOUND US 101 RAMP CLOSURE
A project to repair a failed embankment and restore the structural section of the shoulder of northbound US Highway 101 just north of the Separation with Highway 154 near (Los Olivos/Buellton) will continue Sunday, Sept. 9.
Motorists will encounter a full closure of the No 2 (right) lane of northbound US Highway 101 north of State Route 154 beginning Sunday night, Sept. 9 at 7 pm until Monday, Sept. 10 at 4 pm.
In addition, the northbound on-ramp to US Highway 101 from Highway 154 near Los Olivos/Buellton will be closed on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 7 pm until Monday, Sept. 10 at 6 am.
These closures are necessary so that Caltrans can pave and install new guardrail along this section of US 101.
Motorists in the Santa Ynez/Chumash Casino area may detour via Highway 246 to reach northbound US 101 in Buellton. Motorists can expect delays not to exceed 10 minutes.
The contractor for this $314,000 project is CalPortland Construction of Santa Maria, CA. This project is expected to be completed this September.
STATE ROUTE 246 BICYCLE PATH REPAIRS NEAR SOLVANG TO BEGIN NEXT WEEK
A project to repair and resurface the bicycle path parallel to State Route 246 from east of Alamo Pintado Road to west of Refugio Road in Solvang will begin on Monday, Sept. 10.
The bicycle path will be closed to cyclists/pedestrians for approximately three weeks. Traffic on the bicycle path will detour to the shoulder of State Route 246.
There are no lane closures anticipated on State Route 246, but motorists, bicycle riders and pedestrians will encounter intermittent flagging for vehicles entering/exiting the bike path with delays not to exceed 5 minutes. Everyone is encouraged to Share the Road.
The contractor for this $180,000 project is Taylor Jane Construction of Nipomo, CA. This project is expected to be complete in early October.
