High-Speed Chase Near Buellton

There was a high speed pursuit and crash Thurs. about 11:30 p.m. Hwy 101 at McMurray near Buellton.

The vehicle crossed over the freeway and stopped or crashed in a field. One person caught at gunpoint. Another ran. Multiple Santa Barbara Sheriff’s units responded.

  1. The suspect who fled on foot was caught this morning in the Albertson’s shopping center in Buellton. He seemed to have suffered a broken nose in the crash. Aside from Evading, possibly a felony, unknown what other charges may be filed. Deputies did find shotgun shells, but no weapon in the crashed car.
