Helicopter Rescue for Injured Beachgoer at Mariposa Reina

A injured beachgoer was helicoptered out of Mariposa Reina Monday afternoon.

At 1:57 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a report of a 45-year-old female suffering from a neck injury following a slip and fall on the beach near Highway 101 and Mariposa Reina.

Firefighters, a ground ambulance, and Air Support Unit Helicopter 3 responded to the scene.

The patient was hoisted into the helicopter and transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with moderate injuries.
