Half-Naked Woman Arrested at Vons on Turnpike

Sometime during the noon time lunch-hour Thursday (Dec. 28) a woman was reportedly walking around without any clothing covering the lower half of her body.

An adult Asian female in her late 30s to early 40s entered the business at a grocery store on Turnpike and Hollister. She was said to be wearing a sports top and no pants or undergarments.

An attendant in the store said he saw her approaching and walked in the other direction. Sheriff’s deputies quickly arrived and took the woman into custody.

Two other witnesses said they spotted her in one of the planters in front of Rusty’s and said she had her bottom half exposed. Officers left the scene with one female in custody at around 12:42 p.m.

The specific circumstances pertaining this situation are unknown. Thankfully the students from the high school across the street were on winter break and did not witness the lunch time “Eventualities.”

    • I kind of agree with the idea of individual freedoms being above all. Yet, I am prompted to explore the logic behind California Penal Code 314(1) In Cali it is a misdemeanor to walk around having the privates uncovered. Punishable by a $1000.00 fine, six months in jail, plus being forced to register as a sex offender.

Back in the days people in Isla Vista would urinate in the bushes with no body parts really visible. Today, it is CPC 314 offence. With harsh repercussions. I saw perfectly upright citizens do this both male and female have to run to the brush. It was interesting to see a female pull a squat with dress covering, and let all that beer exit the bladder.

There are way more officers in existence now. I.V. had about 4 SBCO’s out of the IV Foot patrol in the 1990’s. Shout out to Officer Denny, very fair, he did not go after everybody for just anything. Nowadays, there is an army of Goleta PD / Santa Barbara Co. Sherrifs. Plus they have cameras and microphones around I.V. Much different social environment, kind of Orwelian possibly??

      • Anon, huge difference between nudity at beaches (most countries have specified nude beaches, not a free range nudity policy) and what seems to have been a vagrant using the public view as a bathroom

            • The question I have, is why she completely removed all her lower garments? None of the witnesses said she looked homeles. Not trying to change your mind, just rambling again. LoL

            • I Whole-fully respect all-of-thoueths, conjecture, yet, by the-Why, the-Who, the-what could have possibly caused this? Really, how could this have possibly developed?

This event, raises an even deeper component of socio-economic and / or moral-sets-of questions, filled with welcomed-web-commenter’s suggestively interesting intellectual-dialogues. To be, diveresly-discussed in a sort of semi-diplomatic setting and not so much of a penal or legal setting with thus automatic-proceduaral-escalation and failed “stare-decis.” over and over,

Within, continual procedual-failings, declatory judgements based on very short-trail-proceedings. Which tend to resemble limited contractual-mitigations, by-where ones and in some cases childrens rights are diminished and crushed every single time. (YUP! YUP!!)

Thus, these proceedings become helpful to no-one! Yet, with long lasting and, personal and larger social repercussions for all individuals involved. The rulings and circumstances remaining static for years, as children grow older and the system continues to be well funded and un-exaustive, tax-payers keep funding.

              Sheesh! (??)
