Fire agencies extinguished a half-acre brush fire in the Santa Ynez Valley on Monday.

At 12:19 p.m., Santa Barbara County and Chumash Fire Departments responded to the 4800 block of Foxen Canyon Road and discovered a vegetation fire in the surrounding grass.

Crews stopped the forward progress at 1:06 p.m. at a half-acre.
