Half-Acre Brush Fire Contained Near Structures in Solvang

Santa Barbara County firefighters jumped into action on Tuesday afternoon due to a growing fire near structures in Solvang.

At 4:43 p.m. crews responded to the 1900 block of of Old Mission Drive where vegetation was on fire right outside a business park next to the Los Padres National Forest Headquarters building.

Flames could be seen outside the windows of the building as crews worked diligently to contain the blaze.

It took twenty minutes before the fire was extinguished and was contained to less than half and acre.

The County Fire Department states there is no apparent damage to the nearby buildings.

The fire is under investigation.
