The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the results of an autopsy that was conducted on homicide victim, 57-year-old Christina Marie Martin from Tampa Bay, Florida. The decedent’s cause of death was the result of Dual Modality Homicidal Violence resulting in Multiple Traumatic Injuries. The autopsy revealed that Martin had been battered about the head and upper body and suffered a compression of the neck.
Sheriff’s deputies located Christina Martin deceased on September 12, 2017 inside a residence in the 7000 block of Aldus Drive in the City of Goleta. 42-year-old Beth Curnow of Goleta had taken her own life and was found in the garage. The two were long-time acquaintances with ties to Florida.
The motive and circumstances that led to the murder-suicide are under investigation.
