The Goleta Lemon Festival had a variety of activities in Girsh Park!
Classic cars were on display, some with humorous and/or anachronistic touches
Quite a few activities for children
A setup with clear inflated balls floating in a pool. The kids get zipped inside the balls for a unique water activity where they stay dry.
Kid-sized “John Deere” equipment
Plush, steerable animals with kid sing-along music
A bungee-trampoline that allowed several kids to bounce high without risk
A weird log cabin game with a swinging log obstacle to dodge
The UCSB climbing wall
Santa Barbara Radio Control Modelers were asking for a new place to fly their planes.
And they were training a new generation of model plane pilots by letting them build the Academy of Model Aeronautics Delta Dart. The same exact plane I started with as a child in the 1970s!
Did I mention this was the Lemon Festival? Yes, there were lemons.
And delicious lemon bars
And a lemon pie eating contest
Plenty of booths to buy exotic clothing and other unusual products
And non-stop live bands including Spencer The Gardener
A few of us got up in the heat to dance, but most relaxed and listened in the shade
If you missed it this year, mark your calendar for next year!
