Want to get over paradise? Camino Cielo is a start, and John Wiley also suggests you go flying.
Our region is a paradise that we enjoy exploring. Swimming, hiking, walking, biking, boating, driving, or just relaxing and taking it in. Each brings nourishing delights. For another perspective head out to your nearest airport, and go flying. You might see Campus Point differently the next time you’re there watching a plane pass overhead. The UCSB lagoon’s shapes and colors may have a new dimension. The endlessly changing Devereux Slough could have a larger context. Maybe you’ll go fishing in a pond you hadn’t known about before seeing it from above. On a crowded day at the Oceano Dunes you can see what people enjoy from that biplane selling rides from the airport there.
Enjoyed the aerial perspective of some very familiar places. I didn’t realize the Labyrinth was so obvious from the sky (2nd photo)! Curious to know what the 4th photo is of … wild guess is the North Campus Open Space.
That’s it exactly, E.B. – the familiar becomes strange and at the same time more familiar (and beautiful). The pond must be well known in Vandenberg Village, being less than a mile North of Cabrillo High.
