UCSB Men’s Soccer Team closed their season on Saturday afternoon after a 1-0 loss to Wake Forest in the NCAA Quarterfinals.
The fourth-seeded Wake Forest scored against UCSB in the 44th minute of the first half. Captain Alistair Johnston was able to out-maneuver the Gauchos defense and put one in the net past keeper Ben Roach.
UCSB came back strong in the second half to equalize the score but neither team was able to make a goal.
This was the first time the UCSB men’s soccer team had made the NCAA quarterfinals since it won the College Cup in 2006.
The Gauchos ended their season with a respectable 15-5-4 standing.
