A semi-truck hauling gas collided with a sedan on Highway 101 near Los Alamos early Monday morning.
At 5:59 a.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the southbound lanes near Alisos Canyon Road.
The Honda sedan had one occupant, a female, who sustained major injuries. Heavy extrication was required to reach the driver before she was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center by a ground ambulance.
The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured.
Gas product inside the damaged semi-truck was transferred into a secondary tanker on the scene.
One lane was closed for a period of time in the area.
The cause is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Hoping for a quick recovery for the injured driver. Good thing the gas product wasn’t leaked!
