By edhat staff

Santa Barbara County Firefighters responded to a reported gas leak on Calle Real in Goleta late Monday night.

At 11:09 p.m., crews arrived at Calle Real and Kingston Roads near the CVS in Goleta. There was a heavy smell of natural gas in the area near a construction zone.

Calle Real was closed between Kingston and Encina Roads as the gas company responded to shut down the leak. Several businesses were evacuated as a precaution.
