The owners of the properties in the Funk Zone want to prohibit parking for employees on the streets in the Funk Zone. They don’t provide parking. Will they only hire people within walking/biking distance of the wine bar/restaurant they work for or will employees park in nearby neighborhoods for the day?
Oscar, the Westside’s new Councilmeber, wants everyone to pay to park in front of their homes and at minute 1 Downtown. Residents will just love him. He thinks it will fill the City’s coffers, but he doesn’t realize that residents will suffer. – He’s pretty stupid and will be worse that Cathy, which I didn’t think was possible.
I think that Gutierrez offered that comment re paid street side parking in answer to a hypothetical question about ways to raise money, not that he intended to advocate for that. Give him a break, a tiny little council honeymoon and let’s see what he actually says and advocates.
