On October 13, 2023, Ojai Patrol Station Deputies and the Sheriff’s Office West County Special Enforcement Unit (WC-SEU) detectives arrested four juveniles for various firearm, ammunition, negligent discharge of firearm, and marijuana violations after receiving a call for service of subject(s) shooting from a vehicle in the unincorporated area of Ojai.
On October 13, 2023, at approximately 11:11 AM, Ventura County Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call transfer from the California Highway Patrol regarding juveniles observed shooting a handgun from a vehicle on Highway 150, Casitas Pass Road, in the unincorporated area of Ojai.
The suspect vehicle was observed heading towards Ojai. Within a few minutes, an alert Ojai Patrol Deputy located the suspect vehicle travelling on Baldwin Road in the Ojai area. Patrol deputies conducted a high-risk stop on the suspect vehicle on Santa Ana Road at Burnham Road in the Oak View area. Deputies determined the vehicle was occupied by four juveniles, who were in possession of various types of handgun ammunition, high-capacity ammunition magazines, and marijuana products.
Ojai Investigations Unit and WC-SEU detectives responded to assist with the investigation. Deputies and detectives subsequently located two semi-automatic “ghost guns” and spent bullet casings on the side of the road near the 1500 block of Baldwin Road where the patrol deputy initially observed the suspect vehicle.
All four juveniles were arrested for various firearm, ammunition, negligent discharge of firearm, conspiracy, and marijuana violations. They were lodged at the Juvenile Justice Center Facility in Oxnard.

It’s bad enough we have right wing extremists with guns, scary to think of teens having them too
ANON – that’s what happens when everyone’s allowed to have guns. It’s pretty crazy if you think about it. Most civilized countries in the world don’t have this problem and their citizens live happy lives. Amazing how they can be happy without guns!
Sac – How are these children “allowed to have guns?”
I think that like anon, you are conflating illegal gun ownership with those of us who are responsible and law abiding citizens.
The ghost guns speak to them illegally possessing the guns. Nothing to do with legal guns.
It’s apples to oranges.
Similar mentalities.
Where around here are the “right wing extremists with guns?”
We don’t have that problem.
I think you are a good too many states West if that issue.
You are clearly forgetting what demographics illegally own and use guns around here.
It’s the bangers and want to be gangsters, street rap inspired children and hoodlums who we are having issues with.
Of course that perspective is quickly forgotten when the breakdown of that population so closely aligns with the people the liberals viscously protect at the cost of public safety.
How do you viscously protect someone?
Public safety would be greatly enhanced by eliminating firearms, not people you’re biased against.
Maczpul – Obvious typo. I meant viciously.
Not relating to viscosity. Liberals viciously defend and don’t want harsh penalties for minors who do illegal things with illegal firearms = public safety concern. I don’t care if they are kids. Kids with guns are mostly the ones shooting up schools and other kids.
Juveniles with illegal firearms are a menace to society and engaging in crime using firearms deserves harsher penalties than most crimes, not “juvenile correction” till 18 then off free to rinse and repeat.
If you plan to “eliminate” all firearms, make sure the first ones you get are the illegal ones and that you go after those who use them.
It’s the people’s right to bear arms to fight tyranny and defend home and life.
If you get your way and all the guns are “eliminated” don’t go crying when guns coming from down south make their way into the hands of people robbing your house.
There was an article last month on here about an angry old white man shooting his gun off at kids playing in the creek. I’d bet you $50 he’s not a liberal.
Anon – deal. You go ask him though.
What would you say if he was a liberal?
Would he be an outlier or non-accepted member of the left?
