AnonymousFour more inmates have tested positive for COVID-19. One of the inmates was tested on July 13, two more on July 14 and the fourth was tested today. All four positive test results were received today and the inmates were rehoused to a negative pressure housing area. Three of the inmates were in general population and one was housed in the intake quarantine area. The inmates’ previous cellmates are being quarantined in place and will be re-tested and monitored for symptoms.
The total number of inmates who have tested positive for COVID-19 at the Main Jail is now 10 with 3 released from custody, 1 recovered and returned to general population, and 6 currently isolated and being treated.
A custody deputy was also found to be COVID-19 positive today. The custody deputy last worked on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, and was tested as part of the ongoing testing of staff. The custody deputy had contact with inmates while at work and was required to wear a mask during all of those interactions.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 positive-testing staff members at the Sheriff’s Office since the beginning of the pandemic to 33, with 22 of them having recovered and returned to work.
An inmate in general population has tested positive for COVID-19. The inmate was examined by medical staff on Sunday, July 12, 2020, found to be symptomatic, rehoused to a negative pressure housing area and tested for COVID-19. The test results received this morning indicate that the inmate is COVID-19 positive. The inmate remains medically isolated.
We are working together with Public Health and have quarantined the inmate’s previous cellmates, re-tested them for COVID-19, and are conducting contact tracing.
The total number of inmates who have tested positive for COVID-19 at the Main Jail is now 6 with 3 released from custody, 1 recovered and returned to general population, and 2 currently isolated and being treated.
A part-time custody deputy has also tested positive for COVID-19. The custody deputy was tested on July 1, 2020 as part of the sweeping employee testing and was found to be COVID-19 positive today. The custody deputy worked 1-2 days per week in an administrative role and did not have contact with inmates.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 positive-testing staff members at the Sheriff’s Office since the beginning of the pandemic to 32, with 22 of them having recovered and returned to work.
