Forward Progress Stopped in Roadside Buellton Brush Fires

Update by edhat staff

Santa Barbara County Firefighters have stopped the forward progress of three separate brush fires off Highway 101 in Buellton.

Fire crews responded to Jonata Park Road north of Buellton next to the highway around 11:25 a.m. Monday. The fires were several hundred feet apart moving at a slow rate of spread.

The Fire department cancelled the responding helicopter, dozer and fixed-wing tankers as the fire engines on scene stopped the forward progress of the fires.

It’s unclear what started the fires.
