Leo Cerezo arrived just in time to become the first baby born in Santa Barbara County in 2020 at Marian Regional Medical Center (MRMC). Coming into the world at 12:50 a.m., the bundle of joy weighed in at 8 pounds, four ounces, and measured 21 1/4 inches long.
Baby’s mother, Daisha Loreto, and father Bernardo Cerezo, are overjoyed about their unexpected New Year’s arrival. Leo is the second baby for the proud parents, who also have a daughter named Khalanie. Both mom and baby are healthy and doing well.
To celebrate and welcome this bundle of joy, MRMC mom and baby nurses presented mom, dad, and baby with a beautiful gift basket filled with goodies and essentials for the sweet bundle of joy.
“It feels unbelievable to have the New Year’s baby, and we will have a countdown to his birthday each year,” says new father Bernardo. “We are so blessed because our first baby was premature and this time was a different experience; he is a healthy, full-term baby boy.”
