First Lincoln Rose Bud Growth After December Trim

Our roses in Carmel Valley in Monterey County are trimmed in the first two weeks of Dec. each year. To our suppress we have very early growth on all of our recently trimmed one dozen rose bushes.

We have “bottom land” soil near the Carmel river. In the movie Sergeant York the most famous hero of World War One wanted “bottom land soil” and was given that by his home state after the war.

The attached image was just taken on Jan. 25th of the first growth of the year on our Lincoln Rose Bush.
