Orcutt Lab Rescued from a Ruff Situation

Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to an urgent animal rescue call on Thursday.

At 9:46 a.m. crews from Station 26 in Orcutt responded to the 3500 block of Hadley Way. Upon arrival they found Sage, a yellow lab, had crawled through a small opening of a deck.

Sage’s humans became nervous as the large dog was trapped under the deck while the heavy rains brought rising water to the area.

Firefighters used a drill to remove planks from the deck. Sage was safely removed before the rainwater overtook the deck area.

The happy pup shared their excitement with the fire crew post rescue.
