Firefighters Knock Down Kitchen Fire in Isla Vista Apartment

Santa Barbara County Firefighters responded to a reported structure fire in Isla Vista on Tuesday afternoon.
At 3:40 p.m. crews arrived in the 6500 block of El Colegio at a three-story, multi-unit residential building.
Firefighters discovered a fire had broken out in a kitchen in one of the units confined to a microwave and adjacent cabinets.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire in less than 15 minutes.
There were no injuries and the cause is under investigation.
