Fire at Historic Paradise Store

Santa Barbara County and Los Padres National Forest firefighters responded to a structure fire off Paradise Road just before midnight on Wednesday.

At 11:46 p.m., crews arrived at 4964 Paradise Road off Highway 154 at the location of the historic Paradise Store.

According to John Palminteri, the fire started on the deck and moved into the surrounding trees.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire and release trucks back into service around 2:15 a.m.

A fire investigator was on the scene to determine the cause.

The extent of the damage is unclear as of Thursday morning.

The store has been closed for several years and there are no reported injuries.
