On Friday, January 17, 2020, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested one additional suspect from the Isla Vista home invasion robbery last November, bringing the number of arrests to 5. As part of their continued investigation, Sheriff’s Detectives authored an arrest warrant for 19-year-old Michael Gebremeskel for conspiracy and accessory as well as a search warrant for his San Francisco residence.
Detectives served the warrants with the assistance of the San Francisco Police Department and a K9 Unit from Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
Gebremeskel was arrested without incident and transported to the Santa Barbara Main Jail where he is being held on $250,000 bail.
