Fiesta is officially here and it’s time to guess how many horses will be in the annual El Desfile Histórico on Friday.
This year marks the 93rd anniversary of the Fiesta Historical Parade. Every year the event features floats depicting episodes from the history of the state and city, descendants of local Native Americans, Spanish Pioneers, the Native Sons and Daughters of the Golden West, and local service clubs and organizations.
The parade starts at noon at the west end of Cabrillo Boulevard and proceeds east along the beach to State Street, then up State Street to Sola Street.
It is also one of the nation’s largest equestrian parades, which is why members of the Dedicated Edhat Staff count horses! Not mules or donkeys, but just horses. Now is your turn to guess just how many horses will be in this year’s parade. Submit your guess by Friday, August 4th at 11:00 a.m. and the closest guess will win an edhat bag and Fiesta shirts!
