Fatal Collision in Lompoc

Updated by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office

Just before noon today, September 2017, a male employee working at a vineyard in the 2300 block of Sweeney Road in Lompoc was fatally injured in an industrial accident. The decedent was in a pick-up truck with attached trailer. During the process of a forklift being loaded onto the back of the trailer, the truck and trailer began to slide and became jackknifed. The decedent was fatally injured when he attempted to exit the vehicle and became pinned between the truck and the trailer.

The decedent has been identified as being 60-year-old Adan Guerrero Villa of Lompoc. Next of kin has been notified.

Cal/OSHA was also notified of the accident.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department reports a fatal traffic collision in the 2300 Block of Sweeny Road in Lompoc. A male passenger was trapped between a truck and trailer.
