Fatal Collision Closes Highway 1 Near Guadalupe

Highway 1 is now open between Black Road and Brown Road following a multi-vehicle traffic accident this morning.

A fatal traffic collision has closed Highway 1 at Brown Road south of Guadalupe.

At 8:31 a.m. Friday, Santa Barbara County and Guadalupe firefighters responded to the scene between Black and Brown Roads for a traffic collision.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a collision involving a motorcycle and three vehicles. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead on arrival.

All other injuries are reported to be minor.

Caltrans reports Highway 1 is closed between Black Road and Brown Road and there is no estimated time to reopen.

The collision is under investigation by law enforcement.
