Santa Barbara County firefighters and Southern California Edison are working to restore power to a Goleta neighborhood after a tree fell on power lines.

A large eucalyptus tree reportedly fell onto high voltage power lines in the 1100 block of North Patterson Ave after 11:00 a.m. Monday.

The power has been out in the surrounding area for an extended period of time, reports Captain Scott Safechuck.

SoCal Edison’s Outage Map reports 490 customers are impacted and repairs are underway.

  1. Yep, then it went out again at 8pm, until 10pm, then it went out again in the middle of the night and didn’t come back on until early morning. I sure wish SCE could learn how to fix things on the first try.
